I don't want to be grateful.

I keep thinking about Flint.
We've been home for exactly a week. I can't stop thinking about this baby-girl. I found her picture today. Her mom, in the Flint Lives Matter t-shirt, is new to GirlTrek. The women in the back are the best organizers in the country. All in, they recruited 200 new women to commit to Saturday morning walks - a new tradition that will bring hope, agency, forward motion.
Together, across America our collective action is a righteous-radical-rebellion against anything that comes to kill, steal or destroy. Just think of what happens when the women of Flint get together to walk and talk each week. Healing, yes. Change, inevitable. One thing is certain, women working together is one powerful antidote to poison, greed and structural violence. This has always been less about waistlines and much more about total healing. #PeoplePower#SistersKeeper #BlackGirlHealing
PS. This little girl is so brilliant and funny. When her mom wanted her to stop asking for spaghetti and said, "you ought to be grateful," she started crying and slowly declared, "I don't waaant to be grateful!!!" How many times have you felt like that!? lol)
